Symmetric Energy LLC ("Symmetric Energy," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit www.symmetricenergy.com or contact us about our services. It also describes the third-party tools we use, the rights you have under California privacy laws (including the CCPA/CPRA), and how to exercise them.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

When you submit our contact form, request a calculator email, download our buyer's worksheet, or correspond with us, you may provide:

Name, email address, phone number
Property address or project location
Project type, scope, and timeline
How you heard about us
Any additional details you choose to share in messages

1.2 Information collected automatically (tracking technologies)

When you visit our site and after you give consent via our cookie banner, the following tools may collect information:

Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC). Measures pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, referring website, search terms (when available), device type, browser, operating system, and approximate geographic location (city-level, derived from IP). IP addresses are anonymized before storage. Sets cookies on your browser. Google's privacy practices: policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not load Google Analytics until you click "Accept all" on our cookie banner. If you click "Reject all" or do not interact with the banner, this tool does not run. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that as a request to opt out of analytics and do not load it.

We do not use session-recording tools (such as Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, FullStory, or Smartlook), advertising or marketing pixels (such as Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or Google Ads conversion tracking), or chat widgets.

Our site loads web fonts from Bunny Fonts (provided by BunnyWay d.o.o., an EU-based company). Bunny Fonts is a privacy-first, GDPR-aligned font CDN with an explicit zero-tracking and zero-logging policy — they do not log IP addresses, set cookies, or share data with third parties. We chose Bunny Fonts specifically as a privacy-respecting alternative to Google Fonts. See fonts.bunny.net/about. The site itself is hosted on Netlify, which collects standard server logs (IP, timestamps, request URLs) for security and abuse prevention.

When you click Accept or Reject on our cookie banner, we record a server-side consent log entry containing: the timestamp, your choice, your browser user-agent, and a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address (the raw IP is not stored). This log exists solely to evidence your consent choice if required.

1.3 Booking calls

If you click "Book a 15-min consultation," we open a new browser tab to Cal.com (provided by Cal.com, Inc.), where you can schedule a meeting. We have intentionally chosen not to embed Cal.com on our site, so Cal.com cookies are never set on www.symmetricenergy.com. Once on cal.com/symmetric-energy/15min, Cal.com's own privacy policy applies. Cal.com's privacy practices: cal.com/privacy.

1.4 Information we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information. If you send us such information unsolicited, we will not store or use it.

2. How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

Respond to your inquiry and prepare a preliminary project assessment
Communicate about your project (proposals, scheduling, follow-ups)
Improve our website, services, and customer experience
Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising or marketing partners for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Who we share information with

We share information only with:

Service providers acting on our behalf:
- Netlify, Inc. — website hosting, contact-form processing, lead routing, and consent logging
- Google LLC — Google Workspace email, Google Analytics 4 (analytics only with your consent)
- BunnyWay d.o.o. (Bunny Fonts) — web font CDN; zero-tracking, zero-logging policy
- Cal.com, Inc. — meeting scheduling (only when you click "Book a 15-min consultation," which opens a new tab to cal.com)
- Slack Technologies, Inc. — internal team notification when you submit a contact form
Each is bound by their own privacy commitments and, where applicable, data processing agreements that limit their use of the information to providing services to us.
Subcontractors and partners: When working on your project, we may share relevant details (e.g., site address, scope) with general contractors, engineers, or permitting agencies as needed.
Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

Strictly necessary (always on): localStorage entries that remember your cookie-banner choice so we do not show the banner repeatedly.
Analytics (opt-in only): Google Analytics 4 cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*). These load only after you click "Accept all."

You may change your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the site footer. You can also block cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may affect site functionality elsewhere on the web.

5. Data retention

We retain contact form submissions for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to and serve you, typically 3–7 years for project records. Analytics data is retained per Google's defaults (currently 14 months). Server-side consent log entries are retained for 7 years to evidence consent choices if required.

6. Your privacy rights

6.1 General rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements)
Opt out of analytics tracking
Withdraw your consent at any time

6.2 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act, including:

Right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients
Right to delete personal information we have collected from you (subject to legal exceptions)
Right to correct inaccurate personal information
Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information. To the extent that our use of analytics cookies could be considered "sharing" under California law, you can opt out by clicking "Reject all" on our cookie banner, clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer to change a prior choice, sending the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser, or emailing info@symmetricenergy.com with subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@symmetricenergy.com and we will respond within 45 days.

6.3 Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser is configured to send GPC, we treat that as an opt-out of analytics tracking and do not load Google Analytics.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS encryption, restricted access to lead data, two-factor authentication on internal systems) to protect your information. No internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Our services are intended for property owners, contractors, and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on our homepage.
